People in Illinois Googled how to spell “Anniversary” more than any other word last year

Google Trends just posted some new data on the top words that each state is Googling how to spell.  So, they’re literally searching “how do you spell [blank].”

No state is safe from criticism when it comes to the words they’re all having trouble spelling. Here in Illinois, we are having difficulty spelling, “Anniversary.”

Our neighbor to the east, Indiana, can’t spell, “awesome,” and people from Wisconsin can’t spell, “Lose!”

Other funny entries include Texas, which can’t spell, “normal,” North Dakota, which can’t spell, “sorry,” and West Virginia, which can’t spell… “West Virginia.”

The only word that should require googling is Utah’s most googled, “how do you spell [blank],” which was, “boutonniere!”
