Expect to see Chicago serve as the backdrop for way more movies and TV…

It used to be a treat, spotting buildings and locations throughout the city in the TV shows and movies you were watching. Now, it’s becoming way more frequent as the film industry is booming here in Illinois.

According to Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Illinois brought in a whopping $631 million in revenue from the many TV and movie projects shot throughout the state in 2021. This topples former records, the previous being only $70 million in a year.

Thousands of jobs were made for these projects and Illinois shows no slow in serving as the base of filming for upcoming projects. Who else can’t wait for Justified: City Primeval??
