Six people were killed and at least 30 injured yesterday, Monday, July 4th, when a gunman opened fire from a rooftop on a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park. A 21-year-old man identified as a person of interest was taken into custody after an hours-long manhunt.

Out of this horrible tragedy, GoFundMe campaigns were started to support the victims of violence.

One with a $20,000 goal was started for the “Victims of the Highland Park July 4th Shooting.” As of Tuesday, July 5th at 7 AM, it has more than doubled its goal, bringing in $46,097 for victims. You can support that campaign here.

A $5,000 campaign was started for victim Nicolas Toledo, a father of 8 and grandfather of many, who was killed at the event. That GoFundMe has brought in $35,006 for the family. You can support that campaign here.

Finally, a GoFundMe campaign was started for Medical bills for the Kolpack & Joyce Family. The campaign was started by Samantha Whitehead who states, “Today at the highland park annual 4th of July parade my best friend, her dad, husband, and brother-in-law were all shot in front of their little kids (kids were unharmed). They are all in the hospital undergoing various surgeries, which will seriously impact these families financially.” That campaign asked for $100,000 and has currently passed that with a collected $102,357. You can donate to that campaign here.
