Aqua’s song “Barbie Girl“ will not be in the live-action “Barbie” movie that will star Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
In an interview with “Variety“, Aqua lead singer Lene Nystrom said using the song would be too “cheese on cheese”. Quote, “I totally understand why they didn’t use it, but it’s going to bring us a lot of attention, no matter what.”
Keyboardist Soren Rasted joked, quote, “We should say we turned it down. Ryan Gosling is not good enough!”
“Barbie Girl” turned 25 this year.
