DON’T THROW OUT YOUR PUMPKINS!!

This Saturday, there are going to be pumpkin smash events all over Chicago. The events ask visitors to bring their old Halloween pumpkins to turn them into compost rather than trash waste.

You can find one of the many SCACE Pumpkin Smash sites in and around Chicago here. The organization will turn the old Halloween decoration into compost, recycling your pumpkin for the next crops.

The Pumpkin Smash Festival (on Catalpa Avenue between Clark Street and Ashland Avenue) will actually let you smash your own old pumpkin. This fest will also include vendors, activities, and more. You can find details on the event here.
