Remember when MTV was ACTUALLY music television?

Loudwire put together a list of the 11 best MTV shows that were all about music. 

Here they are, in no particular order…

• “Total Request Live”:  It ran from 1998 to 2008, then was revived from 2017 to 2019
• “MTV Unplugged”:  1989 to present
• “Making the Video”:  1999 to 2010
• “120 Minutes”:  It ran from 1986 to 2003, then was revived from 2011 to 2013.
• “Headbanger’s Ball”:  It ran from 1987 to 1995, then was revived on MTV2 from 2003 to 2012.
• “Alternative Nation”:  1992 to 1997
• “I.R.S. Records Presents: The Cutting Edge”: 1983 to 1987
• “12 Angry Viewers”:  1997 to 1998
• “Turn It Up!”:  1990
• “Yo! MTV Raps”:  It ran from 1988 to 1995, then was revived last year on Paramount+.
• “All Things Rock”:  2002 to 2005
