With his career as the frontman of Twisted Sister long behind him, Dee Snider is attempting to reinvent himself as a fiction writer.

The musician has announced the upcoming publication of his first novel, called Frats. Snider describes the story as “a ’70s period piece and coming of age story. It’s all about the toxic masculinity and growing up in a very toxic environment and how it affects people.” Although Snider says the story was inspired by a “true event,” he insists he didn’t write the book about himself.
Although Snider has written two previous books, both were autobiographical. Frats, his first fiction novel, is due this spring.
