WalletHub released its 2023 list of the Happiest Cities in America. They based their results on categories like residents’ Emotional & Well-Being, Income & Employment, Community & Environment, and more.
There was not a lot of representation from Illinois toward the top of the list… in fact, only one Illinois location broke the top 20. That was the suburb of Aurora. The town came in at number 19, being recognized in the Emotional & Well-Being, and Community & Environment categories.
Chicago landed the #74 spot on the list and Madison, Wisconsin is actually the third happiest city in the U.S.
