Sorry Chicago Catholics, The Chicago archdiocese says you can’t eat meat this St. Patrick’s Day

Catholics, I hope you weren’t planning on having corned beef for St. Patrick’s Day

The Chicago archdiocese says it is not okay to eat meat on Friday, March 17th for St. Patrick’s Day. Catholics are currently observing Lent which means no meat on Fridays… and the Irish holiday is no exception in Chicago!

This has been a point of controversy as bishops in other areas of the country are allowing Catholics to eat meat on St. Patrick’s Day. So, go with your gut? At least green beer is still okay this Friday!
