How often do you clean your water bottle? A recent study from waterfilterguru.com found reusable bottles can contain 40,000 more bacteria than a toilet seat.

Researchers swabbed different water bottles with different lids and found two kinds of bacteria—One which can cause antibiotic-resistant infections, and another that can cause stomach issues.
Compared to other household items, bottles contained twice as many germs as the kitchen sink and 14 times more than a pet’s drinking bowl.
Experts recommend washing bottles once a day with soapy water and sanitizing it once a week.
