It’s not even Halloween yet.
If you’ve lived in America for any amount of time, you know that companies/influencers/culture in general functions one or two holidays in advance of where we are. Even though it’s Halloween season, people are looking ahead to Christmas. When it was the 4th of July, people were starting to post Halloween stuff.
Chicago is getting the holiday decorating thing out of the way. NBC Chicago was at Daley Plaza in the Loop when they started putting up holiday lights two days ago.
The age-old debate this time of the year is when is too soon to put up all of the Christmas stuff.
Time 2 Play found that Illinois is one of the earliest states to decorate for Christmas. So it may not be too long before other Illinois cities start to deck the halls too. Illinois residents said that they put up their Christmas decorations over 4 weeks before the holiday. (The national average by the way is decorating your house about 2.5 weeks before Christmas).
Overall, 84% of people in America think that stores put out Christmas decorations too early.
