Chicago’s legendary Music Box Theatre in Lakeview ranks among the most beautiful movie theaters in the world, according to Time Out.
Time Out recently updated its list of the most beautiful cinemas in the world and out of just seven entries based in the U.S., the Music Box Theatre ranks at No. 26.
Last summer, the theater went through a round of renovations and repairs to ensure a premier movie-going experience for cinephiles.
The theater has been operating since 1929 and evokes a time when seeing a movie was just as much if not more about the experience had at the theater, rather than the film playing on screen.
Walking through the doors sends you on a trip back in time, as patrons marvel the old school popcorn machine and concession stand along with the Italian and Spanish architecture found in the main auditorium.
