Five Chicago and one suburban pasta shop just ranked on Yelp’s first-ever list of Top 100 Pasta Places in the U.S., with one spot even cracking the top 20.
The all-time list, revealed Tuesday, was compiled from real Yelp reviews and experiences, organizers said. Editors first identified businesses on Yelp in the “pasta shops” category and then ranked them using a number of factors, including total volume of reviews and ratings.
It comes as Yelp searches for the term “pasta shops” rose 52% from Sept. 2025 to Aug. 2026 versus the prior 12 months.
Many of the spots on the list are “hybrid,” Yelp said, with shops offering an eat-in menu and fresh or frozen pasta and sauces to take home. Rankings also overwhelmingly included local-family owned shops and trattorias, editors said.
Two Midwest spots made the list’s top five, with Eataliana Homemade Pasta in Shelby Township, Michigan, ranking No. 2 and Albano’s Pasta Shop in Valparaiso, Indiana, ranking No. 4.
In Chicago, Italian Homemade Company in Fulton Market made the list at No. 20, followed by pasta shop and restaurant Tuscan Hen Market in North Center at No. 37.
Three other Chicago pasta places made the list, along with one suburban spot. Here’s where they landed:
20. Italian Homemade Company – Fulton Market, Chicago
37. Tuscan Hen Market – North Center, Chicago
54. Tortello – West Town, Chicago
61. Pasta Veneta – Fulton Market, Chicago
87. Vinny’s Pizza & Pasta – Glenview
100. Pasta Bowl – Wicker Park, Chicago
