IKEA will sell bug burgers

IKEA is hoping you’ll want to eat some mealworms instead of a burger. More specifically, the furniture store is taking beef out of its burgers and replacing it with a mixture of meal worms and root vegetables.

These ‘special’ burgers are part of what the chain has dubbed the “fast food of the future.” In other words, it’s a healthy and sustainable food option. It’s one of five new menu items that also include a “dogless hotdog” which is made with dried and glazed baby carrots instead of meat, and topped with berry ketchup, mustard, turmeric cream, onions, cucumber, and herb salad. The bun is made with spirulina, or micro-algae, and is literally green.
