Drew Barrymore  opened up about the possibility of a sequel to 1982’s beloved E.T., which could conceivably feature her (Gertie) and brother’s (Elliott) kids.

“I will say that in the early ’80s there was not a lot of talk of sequels,” Barrymore explained, adding that people from director Steven Spielberg‘s camp had expressed interest in follow-ups to his biggest hits, including Jaws. “But he never wanted to make them, because he felt like what he did is just what it should be.”
