Two alderman have proposed changing Balbo Drive to Ida B. Well’s Drive. The name change to the street that runs through Grant Park would honor civil rights activist, Ida B. Wells. About the change, Wells’ great grandson, Dan Duster, said “To have it downtown where millions of people come to visit every year is incredible. She is well deserving and our city is deserving as well.”
