Large backpacks are crowding ‘L’ Trains

Chicagoans are no stranger to a crowded train, but the Chicago Tribune is shinning on a light on a factor that makes it worse.  With school back in session, the CTA’s ‘L’ trains are being crowded with people and their large backpacks.  One commuter told the Tribune, “I think people are just not aware of how much space that takes up.  When they pivot or turn, the packs hit everybody around them … I’ve been hit a few times.”

When on a train watch out for these swinging behemoths.  And, if you happen to be carrying a backpack onto the train, the CTA ask on their website that you please have the courtesy to keep bags on your laps or between your feet.
