Skull-shaped asteroid will zoom past earth just after Halloween

There’s an asteroid in existence that, in certain light conditions, resembles a human skull, and it will fly past Earth just after Halloween. The rock’s official name is Asteroid 2015 TB145 and is a so-called “dead comet” that has lost most of its ice.

The asteroid appropriately first flew past Earth on Halloween 2015, prompting NASA to dub it “The Great Pumpkin.” Space.com says that time it was just 300,000 miles away from Earth (for reference, the Moon is 238,855 miles from Earth), but when it makes its pass this November it’s expected to be at a much greater distance away.
