Better fill up now… of course that will only help for so long.  Illinois will be raising their taxes on gas by 73 cents per gallon.  According to Gas Buddy founder, Patrick Dehaan, “Illinois is going from one of the lower gas taxes in the region to one of the highest.”  The intention is to balance Illinois’ budget, but at what cost?! ..I guess 73 cents per gallon.  That makes an average of $108 extra for gas per year.  Maybe I’ll go back to using a train to get around!  Registration fees are also increasing with gas-fueled cars going to $199 per car and electric cars fees increasing from $34 to $245!
