According to an analytics firm, the sequel “Coming 2 America” attracted more viewers than any other movie that premiered on a streaming service over the past year. It debuted on Amazon Prime last weekend. That means it did better than “Wonder Woman 1984”, “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”, and “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run”, which also debuted last weekend, but on Paramount+.
Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon” was also released last weekend, but it wasn’t included in the report. That’s probably because it was both in theaters AND on Disney+… And you had to pay an extra $30 to stream it.
