Oxford University opens up its Word of the Year to a public vote. And when you let the internet decide, you get, “Goblin mode.”

According to Oxford, Goblin mode is a slang term that refers to, “a type of behaviour which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations.”
So move over, “Sloth,” you’ve been replaced by Goblin mode.
