School Resource Officers with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office infiltrated a local elementary school to crack down on the popular phrase “6-7.”
On Wednesday, the TCSO posted a video to their Facebook page that surpassed 12,000 views in an hour. In the post, Resource Officers can be seen entering the school and making reference to a new county ordinance recently passed by the sheriff.
The law, called ordinance “6-7,” states that the phrase is now illegal to use. The initiative was passed as a way to “keep parents sane during this time,” according to the TCSO.
As the video continues, there are many students using the phrase and therefore receiving their fake tickets. An officer can be seen in one clip explaining the law to a student in the classroom.
“It is now against the law to use the words six and seven unless using them in a math problem or someone’s age,” she said.
The kids, however, did not relent and continued using the phrase throughout the classroom. A photo of a student holding their “ticket” can be seen towards the end of the video with a disclaimer.
Students, be warned: the TCSO has a zero-tolerance policy for the use of the phrase “6-7.”
