Tickets for Metra’s popular holiday trains sold out within minutes on Monday.
The tradition returns in December for Metra passengers who snagged tickets.
Metra said they sold out of spots within four minutes.
Train cars will be decorated and there will be visits from Santa and other holiday characters.
The trains run December 6, 13 and 20.
The ticket includes a visit to a North Pole winter wonderland at Millennium Station, where families can enjoy treats, holiday music, face painting, games, and other fun activities.
“Our Holiday Trains have become an annual tradition for our riders and their families, and we are happy to be operating them again,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski. “It’s our way to spread a little holiday joy and thank our riders for making Metra part of their lives all year.”
Tickets were $10 each. There was a limit of five tickets per-purchase.
Metra said there were no plans to add trains.
