As the Chicago Bears’ drive to reach the NFL playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season intensifies, the team announced Tuesday that it will begin selling tickets for possible postseason home games this Thursday, Dec. 11.
Single-game tickets for a potential NFC Wild Card home game and a potential NFC Divisional Round home game will go on sale to the public at 11 a.m. Thursday, at ChicagoBears.com/tickets. Bears season-ticket holders and members of the season pass priority list will receive early access during a presale window from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Wild Card games will be from Saturday, Jan. 10, through Monday, Jan. 12. Divisional Round games will be on Saturday, Jan. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 18. The NFL’s conference championship games are on Sunday, Jan. 25.
All tickets to playoff games at Soldier Field will be sold through Ticketmaster, and all delivery will be mobile only. The Bears say in the event the team does not host an NFC Wild Card or NFC Divisional Round game, single-game tickets purchased via Ticketmaster will be refunded in full within seven to 10 business days following the scheduled date of the game.
Playoff picture
Currently, the Bears (9-4) have a 65% chance of making the playoffs, according to NFL.com’s playoff picture. They occupy the No. 7 and final seed in the NFC playoff field going into this week’s game, so they would go on the road if the playoffs started today.
But there’s likely to be much more shuffling in the NFC playoff picture before the regular season ends. The Bears are just a half-game behind the Green Bay Packers (9-3-1) for first place in the NFC North and one game behind the Los Angeles Rams (10-3), who are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC field.
The Bears actually held the No. 1 seed prior to last week but dropped to No. 7 after they lost to the Packers and the Rams beat the Cardinals in Arizona. So things can change quickly. The Bears host the Cleveland Browns for a noon kickoff Sunday at Soldier Field.
The Bears have not hosted a home playoff game since the Wild Card Round following the 2018 season, when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on the infamous “double-doink” missed field goal as time expired. Their last postseason home win was in the Divisional Round following the 2010 season over the Seattle Seahawks.
