On Groundhog Day, many Americans wait to find out whether Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow, and he did — forecasting 6 more weeks of wintry weather.
In Illinois, that honor goes to Woodstock Willie in Woodstock, Ill., the town where Bill Murray’s 1993 classic “Groundhog Day” was filmed.
Willie looked around early Monday and did not see his shadow — meaning spring is just around the corner.
Woodstock has embraced its place in Hollywood history with an annual festival.
