Two popular Chicago kids museums that rarely offer complimentary tickets will host a free day this week thanks to three-day, global initiative and festival called “Every Child Thrives.”
The free days, at the Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier and the Museum of Ice Cream in Streeterville, will take place Thursday, June 25 and is available to the public, a release from the “Every Child Thrives Festival” said. The festival, organizers said, “brings together youth, families, leaders, advocates and practitioners working across community, cultural, corporate, educational, health and systems-shaping spaces to spark possibility, act boldly and build lasting change.”
Providing free admission for Chicagoans to the Chicago Children’s Museum and Museum of Ice Cream is one of the highlights of the Festival’s agenda,” organizers said in the release. “We are excited to share this opportunity with the community, and hope attendees leave inspired to dream bigger and imagine more.”
The Chicago Children’s Museum, at 700 E Grand Ave., will offer free admission to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. While advance tickets for the free admission day at the museum are sold out, a “limited number” of additional tickets will be available at the museum Thursday.
The website for the Children’s Museum encouraged guests to call ahead or email customer support before visiting to confirm availability.
The Museum of Ice Cream, at 435 N. Michigan Ave., will also offer free admission Thursday as part of the festival, with admission between 2 and 6 p.m., the festival’s website showed.
