DAVE & KIM
Weekdays 5:00 – 10:00 AM · Studio Line (312) 922-9470ABOUT THE SHOW
Dave and Kim have been hosting mornings on 94.7 WLS for more than nine years. Their secret? “We don’t take ourselves too seriously,” says Kim. “That, and we need the money!” laughs Dave.
Dave Fogel is no stranger to Chicago radio, having previously been heard on the Loop, the Mix and WJMK in the past. Kim Berk’s an east coast transplant who’s completely fallen in love with her adopted city. “Chicago is a big small town,” she says. “People are friendly, everyone has each other’s back and the food is amazing.”
In between playing Chicago’s Classic Hits, Dave and Kim make us laugh as they talk about what Chicagoans are talking about, from pop culture insanity to traffic hassles on the Kennedy.
ABOUT DAVE
Dave is the son of actor, DJ and talk radio host Jerry Fogel. At the age of six, Dave moved to Hollywood, CA when his father started working on the TV series “The Mothers-in-Law.” (Jerry also starred in “The White Shadow” and had guest roles on numerous other television shows). Dave attended Granada Hills High School in Los Angeles where he played on the football team with Super Bowl MVP John Elway. He also attended high school with actress Valerie Bertinelli — they were in the same algebra class.
In order to live a more “normal” life, Dave’s dad moved the family to Kansas City, where Dave attended the University of Missouri–Columbia and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, living in the house then with Brad Pitt.
Sheryl Crow was at Mizzou at the same time, and she gave the guys singing lessons of the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. It appeared Dave just could not get away from show biz!
On the radio in Chicago since the mid 90s, Dave and his family have always loved Chicago and the Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks. OK, some White Sox games too. Dave’s wife Melanie worked at the Hinsdale Schools where they attended growing up. Their daughter became a swimmer at The University of Arkansas and their son played baseball for Southern Illinois University.
The family is pretty spread out now working on careers and families of their own, but Chicago will always be “home” for the Fogels.
ABOUT KIM
Kim was born in NYC but spent much of her childhood here in Chicago hanging with her cousins and pressing her nose against the glass of the giant dollhouse (which she still wants to live in) at the Museum of Science and Industry, riding rides at Old Chicago and drooling over Ryne Sandberg at Wrigley… long before the lights.
Now she is a Chicago mom of a sassy 6-year-old and an old Black Lab named Hudson.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO what a ride!”
