“SECRET GRAND IN YOUR HAND”
A complete copy of these rules can be obtained by contacting radio station WKQX-FM or WLS-FM
(each a “Station” and together, “Stations”), at 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive, Suite 600,
Chicago, IL 60611 (Market Office), during available business hours Monday through Friday,
on the Stations’ websites www.q101.com and www.947wls.com, or by sending a self-addressed,
stamped envelope to the above address.
The Station will conduct the Q101 and 94.7 WLS’ “Secret Grand In Your Hand” Contest
(the “Contest”) substantially as described in these rules, and by participating,
each entrant agrees as follows:
1. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF
WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL REGULATIONS APPLY.
Eligibility.
This Contest is open only to legal U.S. residents that reside within a 100-mile radius from
the Market Office, excluding Florida and New York residents, age eighteen (18) years or older
at the time of entry with a valid Social Security number, who have not won a prize from either
Station in the last thirty (30) days or a prize valued at $500 or more in the last sixty
(60) days and whose immediate family members or household members have not won a prize from
either Station in the last thirty (30) days or a prize valued at $500 or more in the last
sixty (60) days, Void where prohibited by law.
Employees of Stations, Chicago FM Radio Assets, LLC, and each of their parent companies,
affiliates, related entities and subsidiaries, promotional sponsors, prize providers,
advertising agencies, other radio stations serving the Station’s market, and the immediate
family members and household members of all such employees are not eligible to participate.
The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents and step-parents, siblings
and step-siblings, and children and stepchildren. The term “household members” refers to
people who share the same residence at least three (3) months out of the year.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules
and Station’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
Contest Period – WLS-FM.
The Contest entry period on WLS-FM will begin at 6:00 AM CT on Monday, August 31st, 2026,
and will run weekdays from 6:00 AM CT until 7:00 PM CT through Friday, October 2nd, 2026
(the “WLS Contest Period”).
Contest Period – WKQX-FM.
The Contest entry period on WKQX-FM will begin at 6:00 AM CT on Monday, August 31st, 2026,
and will run weekdays from 6:00 AM CT until 7:00 PM CT through Friday, October 2nd, 2026
(the “WKQX Contest Period,” the WLS Contest Period and the WKQX Contest Period are
sometimes referred to herein as the “Contest Period”).
The Stations’ computers are the official time keeping device for this Contest.
2. How to Enter.
(I) Text:
Listen to WLS-FM or WKQX, as applicable, weekdays from 6:00am to 7:00pm CT during the
applicable Contest Period for WLS-FM to announce one (1) of up to forty-three (43)
rotating secret keywords and for WKQX to announce one (1) of up to forty (40) rotating
secret keywords (each, a “Keyword” and collectively, “Keywords”).
The Keywords will be the name of a specific Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin city located
within a 100-mile radius from the Market Office, said on-air, at or around the :10-minute
mark (WKQX-FM) and :30-minute mark (WLS-FM) of each hour during the applicable Contest
Period.
For example, on-air announcer may say “Shoutout to our City of the Day – Aurora.”
In this example the Keyword would be “Aurora.”
When WKQX announces the Keyword at or around the :10-minute mark, listeners should send
a text message with the Keyword spelled correctly to 312-967-8300.
When WLS-FM announces the Keyword at or around the :30-minute mark, listeners should
send a text message with the Keyword spelled correctly to 312-922-9470.
All Keywords for all Contest rounds must be correctly spelled and received into the texting
system no later than 11:59pm CT on the same weekday that the Keyword was announced, in
order to be eligible to win.
Incorrect, misspelled, late, and/or texting system rejected entries will not be entered
to win.
Standard text messaging rates, as established by an individual’s wireless carrier, may
apply, and Station assumes no responsibility for any fees or charges incurred for and
associated with any text message sent to or from Station.
Any and all fees arising from the transmission of a text message shall be the sole
responsibility of the entrant.
Limit one (1) entry per person per phone number. Multiple participants are not permitted
to share the same telephone number.
Any attempt by any participant to submit more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different
telephone numbers, identities, or any other methods will void that participant from further
participation in the Contest.
(II) Free Alternate Method of Entry Online:
Listen to the applicable Station during the applicable Contest Period.
When the Station announces the Keyword during the Contest Period, visit the applicable
Station’s “Secret Contest” webpage at
www.947wls.com/secretcontest or
www.q101.com/secretcontest, as applicable, during the applicable Contest
Period, and complete an entry form including providing the Keyword(s) spelled correctly.
You must successfully submit the Keyword(s) correctly spelled and your complete and
accurate registration information no later than 11:59pm CT on the same weekday that the
Keyword was announced in order to receive a valid entry.
Incorrect, misspelled, late, and/or system rejected entries due to any technical
malfunction will not be entered to win.
Limit one (1) entry per person per Keyword, regardless of how many email addresses a
person may possess and use. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same
email address.
Any attempt by any participant to submit more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different
email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that
entry and the participant may be disqualified.
Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
Station is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible,
inappropriate or misdirected registrations, all of which will be disqualified.
In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the
email address used to register will be deemed to be the participant.
The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned the telephone number by the
wireless carrier or an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider
or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for
