Starting July 1st, police will no longer be giving warnings if you are holding your phone while driving; you’ll get a ticket instead.
You will be given a ticket if you are talking, texting, using your maps app, checking the time, etc. They really mean it when they say “no phones on the road!” If you are over 18 years old, you can use hands-free technology if you need to use your phone while driving such as Bluetooth, Siri, or Google.
If you’re at a stop light or a stop sign, you can STILL get a ticket if you are holding your phone.
3 tickets in a year will get your license suspended.
The only exception to this is if you are parked, or on the shoulder of the road.
Be aware, and stay safe!
