And, no, it’s not some sketchy guy in a trench coat trying to sell you a bridge. It’s the Chicago Department of Transportation…slightly less sketchy.

They will GIVE it to you. You just have to cover the moving costs. Which probably will be slightly more than your last move. But you don’t need those annoying wardrobe boxes!

The bridge was built in 1914 and is on the National Register of Historic Places but it needs to be replaced.

So, if your childhood dream was to have a pony truss bascule bridge in your backyard, get your proposal in by July 13th!
