On Monday night (November 5th) Elton John‘s 2018 annual fall gala for the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), held at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, raised $3.9 million, which benefits “various organizations working to end HIV/AIDS, especially in underrepresented communities. A portion of the funds were raised via auction, with an original painting by Tony Bennett selling for nearly $200,000 and a photo from Aretha Franklin’s final performance going for $100,000.”
Among the performers on Monday night were Sheryl Crow, who played 45-minute set peppered with such hits as “If It Makes You Happy” and “Everyday Is A Winding Road,” among others.
