Paramount has confirmed that a sequel to Coming to America is in the works. Coming to America: 2 will be hitting theaters on August 7, 2020. Eddie Murphy will reprise his role as Prince Akeem and reports say that Murphy will be returning to America to meet his long lost son who is also the potential heir to the throne of Zamunda.
Kenya Barris has signed on to write the script and executive produce the film. Eddie Murphy and Kevin Misher will serve as producers. Coming To America originally debuted in 1988.
