VIDEO: Billy Joel Jams With Foreigner’s Lou Gramm & Mick Jones

Billy Joel welcomed Foreigner‘s Lou Gramm and Mick Jones during his Thursday night (January 11th) monthly stand at Madison Square Garden, according to Rolling Stone. The pair joined the “Piano Man” on stage to perform 1981’s “Urgent” with Jones replacing Billy on the piano for 1977’s “Cold As Ice.” It was a reunion on many levels — marking yet another live performance by the band’s long-estranged co-founders, who have patched things up in recent years and played several times this summer and fall in celebration of Foreigner’s 40th anniversary.

Reuniting with the guys was Billy’s longtime saxophonist Mark Rivera, who toured the world with Foreigner before being snapped up by Billy in time for his tour behind 1982’s The Nylon Curtain. Also reuniting was Billy with Mick Jones — who produced his chart-topping 1989 set Storm Front album, which included Billy’s last Number One hit to date, “We Didn’t Start The Fire.” Billy inducted Gramm and Jones into the Songwriters Hall of Fame back in 2013.
