Iconic director Steven Spielbergis ready to shake things up in his beloved Indiana Jones franchise. He told Britain’s The Sun that when Harrison Fordretires, he’d be open to casting a woman in the main role.
Spielberg also said that he is “pretty sure” the upcoming fifth film will be Ford’s last, but that the franchise will “certainly continue after that.” He said it was time for the character to take “a different form.” When asked if that meant a woman, he said: “we’d have to change the name from Jones to Joan. And there would be nothing wrong with that.”
