Avengers: Infinity War opened with $200M in China this weekend, making it the second movie ever to nab a $200M+ opener in two different territories. Avengers: Infinity War has also become the biggest comic book superhero movie of all time.
The next hurdle is the $1.671 billion gross Jurassic World hauled in in 2015, making it the highest-grossing movie ever for a summer release, and fourth behindStar Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068b), Titanic ($2.187b, counting reissues) and Avatar ($2.788b). In its third weekend out, the Disney and Marvel blockbuster nabbed $61.8 million in the U.S.
Melissa McCarthy’s Life of the Party debuted in second place with $18.5 million, and Gabrielle Union’s Breaking In opened in third with $16.5 million.
