Last Printers Row printing company moves out

Its the end of an era as Chicago’s last printing company moves out of the once publishing center that was Printers Row.  Palmer Printing was Printers Row last holdout from the golden age of publishing.  The company has shifted most of its work from printing to marketing to keep up with the needs of today.  Now that Palmer Printing doesn’t need the space it once did, the company has decided to move out.

Palmer Printing is merging with another and moving to Elk Grove Village.  Before they leave Chicago, they will be giving away their stocks of paper to Chicago public schools and art programs.  Printers Row, which was once synonymous with it’s namesake, is now mostly bars, restaurants and apartments.
