Lower Wacker to get beacons to prevent loss of GPS signal

Lower Wacker is my favorite shortcut but it can be difficult to navigate for first-timers.  If you’ve ever relied on your phone when driving through The Loop’s lower level, your GPS at some point likely got confused as to where your exact location is.  Often, it’ll plant you on upper Wacker or an entirely different street.  The city of Chicago hopes to end this problem.  With beacons donated by SpotHero, the parking app, the city is placing the more than 400 helpful tools in lower Wacker.  These beacons will help guide your app and you, the driver, through the often confusing lower Wacker.  The beacons require little maintenance and their batteries will last several years.
