Steve Van Zandt is raving mad at being misquoted by Britain’s Daily Star regarding the future of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Van Zandt, who keeps things pretty close to the vest regarding “The Boss” and the band, was quoted as saying that Springsteen has one more E Street Band tour in him before calling it quits.
The Springsteen magazine/website Backstreets.composted:
TRUST NONE OF WHAT YOU HEAR
We believe strongly that the free press is not the enemy of the people… but still, there are times when you can’t believe everything you read. Despite what The Daily Star reported yesterday, Steven Van Zandt does not believe that Bruce Springsteen has just “ONE more tour in him.” On Twitter, Stevie calls this “the real FAKE NEWS!”
The site then copied Van Zandt’s tweets on the topic:
“Quotes” from Daily Star. “It’s been an amazing run for him and then he’s going to take some time off.” I didn’t say that. I said he DESERVES TIME OFF. “I think the E Street Band has one more tour then maybe that will be that.” Completely made up! 100% fiction. F***ing amazing. – Stevie Van Zandt (@StevieVanZandt) September 5, 2018
It was bull***. They made that sentence up. Completely. Pure bull***. We will tour forever. – Stevie Van Zandt (@StevieVanZandt) September 5, 2018
