“Where their’s smoke, there’s likely fire,” applies very appropriately to rumors of Maroon5 headlining Super Bowl LIII. Deadline reports that the NFL will stay coy to their choice of performer in 2019’s halftime show. As more talk has circulated of Adam Lavine‘s band being the unannounced pick, a league spokesman told Deadline, “It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate…We are continuing to work with Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make.” Deadline believes this is business talk for ‘Yes, but we can’t say it yet.’ They further this belief with confirmation from members of the music industry who say “it’s trending in that direction.”
We will get true confirmation later in the NFL season. Don’t be surprised if the next headline reads, “Maroon5 is headlining he 53rd Super Bowl Halftime Show!”
