Since last September, unemployment numbers are down in many of Illinois’ metro-areas. This data comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security, detailing, “Illinois…saw its lowest number of unemployment claims filed in the month of September in forty-five years.” Kankakee displayed a very notable increase of 6.2 percent. Job sectors that experienced increase include manufacturing, transportation, warehousing and utilities, professional and business services, construction and education and health services.
