A major FaceTime bug has been discovered that lets a caller hear and see the person they’re calling before that person answers. It happens when a person making a call adds themselves to the call as if it was a Group FaceTime, which makes them able to hear the call recipient’s audio without them answering. Making it even worse, if the call recipient hits the power or volume button to ignore the call, the camera begins sending back video from the recipient too. Apple said yesterday (January 28th) that they were aware of the problem and that there’d be a fix in a software update later this week. Meanwhile, there were many recommendations being made online that iPhone and Mac users disable FaceTime until the fix is made.
