Amazon to let Prime customers choose ‘Once-a-Week Delivery’

Amazon has come up with a way to both reduce its carbon output and give customers more control over when they get their packages, by allowing people to choose once-a-week delivery. Under the new “Amazon Day” service, which will begin next week, Prime members in the U.S. will be able to choose one day of the week to receive their orders, with Amazon holding the customer’s packages throughout the week before delivering them on their selected day.

The company said the Amazon Day service could reduce the amount of shipping materials used, as well as the number of stops Amazon deliveries need to make. Amazon Day is the latest effort by the e-commerce giant towards its goal of having half of its shipments be carbon neutral by 2030.
