Mick Jagger’s first movie in a decade coming in September

Mick Jagger‘s first acting performance in over a decade will hit the big screen in September. The Burnt Orange Heresy opens on September 7th and stars Donald Sutherland, Claes Bang, and Elizabeth Debicki. According to the press release for the thriller, “The art world and the underworld collide in director Giuseppe Capotondi’s neo-noir thriller, set in present-day Italy.” The Burnt Orange Heresy premieres at the 76th Venice International Film Festival, which runs from August 28th to September 7th.

News.artnet.com posted, “Jagger plays Cassidy, a powerful art collector and patron of a reclusive painter named Jerome Debney, played by Donald Sutherland. Debney is likened to J.D. Salinger, who famously stopped publishing his work after the success of The Catcher In The Rye.”

Jagger’s last big screen role was as a bank clerk in the 2008 Jason Statham movie, The Bank Job.
