Tis the season to be scared!  And, if you’re looking to really get scared this Halloween, you may want to check out some of the places on this list.  Thrillist came up with the 50 most haunted places in the U.S. (one place for each state).  Illinois’ most haunted place is none other than Raven’s Grin Inn in Mount Carroll.

According to the list, owner (and dweller of the inn) Jim Warfield takes you on a tour “into a maze of his spooky art, prop gags, and a not-so-safe-but-exhilarating three-story slide into the haunted wine cellar.”  The Raven Grin Inn is open year-round and VERY busy in fall (obviously).  Tours cost $15.  If you’ve already tried all the haunted houses around Chicago, this should be your next stop!
