Despite what some “Wet Bandits” might have you believe, Winnetka is apparently a really great place to live. That was a “Home Alone” reference, by the way, since the classic film was shot there. According to 24/7 Wall St., it’s the 2nd best city in America to live, beaten out by only Manhattan Beach, California (which is right on the ocean).
The website notes Winnetka’s easy access to Chicago via public transport and a “high per capita concentration of restaurants, bars, and theater companies.” Not to mention a must-visit local for movie fans who’ve always wanted to see the home of the McCallister’s!
