Coronavirus sparks Google search spike for ‘Corona Beer Virus’ and ‘Beer Virus’

Some people are apparently very confused when they hear the term coronavirus. Google Trends data shows that searches for “beer virus” and “Corona beer virus” have spiked in the U.S. over the past month. New Mexico logged the most searches for “beer virus,” while “Corona beer virus” was most-search by people in Oregon.

Still, people are searching for regular things. For example, last week, global search interest in “coronavirus symptoms” spiked over 1,000 percent!
