The City of Chicago will hold a virtual 2020 high school graduation ceremony next month

High School grads aren’t getting the ceremonies they expected, but they’re trying.

The City of Chicago will try to help the void with a virtual graduation ceremony.  “Graduation 2020: For Chicago. By Chicago,” will air on WGN-TV and stream on the WGN-TV website.  The ceremony will feature speeches from Mayor Lori LightfootOprah Winfrey and emcee of the event, Hamilton star, Miguel Cervantes.

Those grads who want simulate the experience of walking in their own graduation can submit a video of them doing so that may appear in the broadcast/stream.  The event airs Sunday, June 14th at 1PM.
