Famed Chicago movie theater, Movie Box Theatre, reopens this weekend. The Chicago staple will kick off the summer movie season with Prince‘s classic film, Purple Rain. They will be showing the rock musical drama in their back garden space outside. Purple Rain plays Friday, July 3rd through July 5th starting at 8:45PM. 4th of July Weekend plans, anyone??
Inside their building this weekend, Music Box will be showing a 70mm print of “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Seating will be limited in the main auditorium due to social distancing. Movies to look forward to this summer include “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which will take Purple Rain’s place in the back garden outdoor space the following weekend, and the first new blockbuster to hit theaters in MONTHS, Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet.
