The nation is seeing a shortage of lifeguards and Chicago is doing something about it…
It’s HOT out, so people want to go swimming. But, Chicago’s 22 beaches are in short supply of lifeguards to protect beachgoers. Lifeguards make a meager $15.88 to keep watch and save lives. So, the Chicago Park District is offering some incentives to staff public beaches.
Lifeguards will make a $600 retention bonus and people who refer lifeguards will make $500!
So if you know any young people age 16-or-older looking for a summer job, you may want to point them to the beach! They can apply through the Chicago Park District here.
