Mayor Lori Lightfoot has given the thumbs up for a NASCAR Chicago Street Circuit. This means at some point we could see NASCAR cars whipping around the streets of downtown.

While no specific route has been disclosed, the street circuit will likely feature the lakefront. The race is intended to bring in tourism to Chicago.

The agreement was made specifically with the Lightfoot administration which means she needs to win a second term for this deal to go through.
